  Getting About

  Car Rental
Unless you are very energetic you will need a car to get to see the best of the area.  Cars can be hired from www.hertz.com at Dinard Airport.

Bike Rental
Hiring bikes for adults is easy,  but children's bikes are not available in Dinan so you will need to bring them with you.  Cycling along the tow path to dinan (30 mins on the bikes) is beautiful, easy, flat and there is no traffic.  It's a great idea on market day (thursday) so that you don't have to worry about parking the car.

  Shopping
daily bread
the village of Calorguen  1km has a small boulangerie where you can get fresh bread, croissants, pain au chocolat and basic daily necessities (closed on thursday).

supermarkets
There are 3 big supermarkets in and around Dinan - Le Clerc is the biggest (10 mins by car) on the outskirts of Dinan.  In the town itself you will find Promocash (main square) which is open until  21h in the evening and Sunday morning  (no shops are open Sunday afternoon)

  shopping centres, bars & restaurants
Dinan boasts some lovely boutiques for browsing.  The old centre is full of little shops and at least 50 restaurants and creperies and several bars.  The port area is a lovely place to sit by the river, eat a good meal drink a drop of wine or cider  and watch the world go by.
